MOUNT EDWARD Morrison Vineyard Pinot Noir 2007
Our Morrison Pinot Noir, named after our Lowburn vineyard, is the first single vineyard wine from the Cromwell basin. It is a textural wine, elegant and balanced, with a soft fine tannins. In this way it is similar to the Mount Edward Pinot Noir from the same vintage, as you would expect. What sets it apart is its aromatics, it has a perfumed nose with lovely floral notes and a solid core of luscious fruit, a wine of considerable depth. We have no idea of how long this will cellar however hazard a well educated guess of 10 years without trouble.
No filtration or fining, deposits may form. Bottled April 08, released Dec 08. 48 cases Sealed with screwcap.
“Elegant and powerful Pinot Noir that has plenty of fruit flavour without being a fruit bomb. It has a smooth texture and yet is long with a bone-dry finish. An exciting and restrained wine with potential for bottle development.” 92 points Bob Campbell MW Sept 08
