"How good are these Pinot Noirs? Damm good... Compelling Pinot Noir is a matter of layered dimensionality, where you don’t discover everything about a wine in one sip. Happily wineries such as Mount Edward... deliver such multidimensional goods" - Matt Kramer Wine Spectator April 2005

Mount Edward Muirkirk Vineyard 2008 Pinot Noir

This will be the first release of our single vineyard Muirkirk Pinot Noir from our Felton rd vineyard in Bannockburn. Our 2008 Muirkirk displays rich and dark plummy fruit characters, hints of briar berries with a beautifully soft tannin structure. It is a powerful and balanced wine that still manages to display grace and elegance despite its obvious concentration. This wine exemplifies why we have placed such high regard in Felton Rd, Bannockburn, as a winegrowing sub region.

Like our other single vineyard wines this has been aged further in barrel to aid its development and potential.

Bottled in June with a release date of Nov 2009, 65 cases total. Please enquire for availability as this wine will be offered first to all Vintner club then mail order customers.
