"How good are these Pinot Noirs? Damm good... Compelling Pinot Noir is a matter of layered dimensionality, where you don’t discover everything about a wine in one sip. Happily wineries such as Mount Edward... deliver such multidimensional goods" - Matt Kramer Wine Spectator April 2005

Mount Edward 2005 Pinot Noir

Mount Edward 2005 Pinot Noir

Our 2005 Pinot Noir is more of a complex wine that relies on texture and weight  than the fruit driven 2004 Mount Edward. Our overall blend for this wine contains a greater proportion of Gibbston wines thanks to a good - but small - harvest from Susan's vineyard. As a result we see some lovely dried herb notes, hints of savoury tones and gamey characters. Delicate in structure with very light tannins, like all our wines this will benefit from a little time lying down and thus far we are thrilled with its progress. We have tiny quantities of this wine as is reflective of the miserly 2005 vintage.  - Sorry Sold Out
