"How good are these Pinot Noirs? Damm good... Compelling Pinot Noir is a matter of layered dimensionality, where you don’t discover everything about a wine in one sip. Happily wineries such as Mount Edward... deliver such multidimensional goods" - Matt Kramer Wine Spectator April 2005

Mount Edward Drumlin Riesling 2006

Mount Edward Drumlin Riesling 2006

This wine was produced from fruit from the small, steep, north facing vineyard next to the winery in Gibbston. The glacial based gravelly schist soils give a nice mineral backbone to the citrus and apple palate. Harvested in April at a very low 1 tonne per hectare, this Riesling is medium in style, the residual sugar balanced by a clean, crisp acidity. Delicate yet complete, this wine is drinking extremely well now but can be cellared with confidence.

For those of you who enjoyed the 2005 Mount Edward Riesling this wine is very similar.
