"How good are these Pinot Noirs? Damm good... Compelling Pinot Noir is a matter of layered dimensionality, where you don’t discover everything about a wine in one sip. Happily wineries such as Mount Edward... deliver such multidimensional goods" - Matt Kramer Wine Spectator April 2005

Mount Edward 2007 Pinot Noir

Mount Edward 2007 Pinot Noir

Our 2007 Pinot Noir is a good example of both Mount Edward's style and the 2007 vintage. It contains plenty of our characteristic spice, savoury and herbal elements, all within a solid core of fruit flavours ranging from cherry to plums. Good length of flavour and concentration are there as well. Vintage 07 for us was a return to a more classical vintage - with more style and grace as opposed to the power and concentration of say the previous 2006 vintage. Our wine reflects this with a softer tannin profile and a gentle balance of flavours.  The vintage itself was marred by frosts - which for us meant vastly reduced volumes - accordingly we do not expect this wine to be available for very long.

"Silky and sensuous, ..and already delicious" - 5 stars Michael Cooper July 2008
