"How good are these Pinot Noirs? Damm good... Compelling Pinot Noir is a matter of layered dimensionality, where you don’t discover everything about a wine in one sip. Happily wineries such as Mount Edward... deliver such multidimensional goods" - Matt Kramer Wine Spectator April 2005

Mount Edward 2006 Pinot Noir

Mount Edward 2006 Pinot Noir

Our 2006 Pinot Noir is a complex wine, full of fruit power and concentration, tending to be more dense in flavour and weight rather than the more delicate wines of 2004 and 2005 vintages. A long hot summer gave us wines with tannin and concentration, the 2006 reflects this with increased cellaring potential and indeed a wine that demands more time before opening up its true potential. It has lots of complexity, hints of savoury tones and gamey characters, plenty of structure and length of flavour.

No filtration or fining.

Grown primarily from our Morrison and Pisa Terraces vineyards in Lowburn Cromwell, with around a 5% contribution from Susan's vineyard in Gibbston.

We would expect this wine to last up to 10 years in the right cellaring conditions.

"2006 Mount Edward Pinot Noir, is the perfect place for pinot noir, and this gorgeous, juicy, rose-scented edition is one of the best vintages I have tasted from this estate. Enjoy."
